Alma Reichardt and Holly

Subject: Alma Reichardt(age: about 53) and her granddaughter, Holly.
Date: 1950's.
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Occasion: Unknown.
Photographer: Unknown.
Relationship to me: Maternal Grand Aunt.

I have very little information regarding this photograph. Once my mother retired, she went through boxes of photographs and created historical photo albums. She made one for myself and one for my brother. I am posting and commenting on the photographs from this album.

Photographed at the Reichardt's home, located 2800 W. Grant Blvd. Milwaukee, WI.

Albert(Abby) and Alma were unable to conceive. They adopted a boy, and their son's name was Paul Albert(b: 1926- d: 1997). Once Paul was an adult, there was animosity between him and his parents. Paul married and had one child named Holly. Paul left Wisconsin and moved to California. He and his family were estranged from the rest of the family. I have very limited information about Paul and Holly.

Paul was five years older than my mother Norma. They grew up together and my mother had many happy memories about Paul. I think next to Paul's parents, my mother took the estrangement the hardest. She really missed sharing their adult life together as they were so close growing up.

Walter Ernest Moeller was born April 17, 1910. His parents were William Moeller and Minnie Wihelmina Waswo Moeller. He was married to Margaret Webster (Birth: June 3, 1917; Death: January 9, 2009 in Lake Isabella, California) in 1937 in Chicago, IL.  They had three children. From the photograph the child on the far left was Phillip Frederick Moeller, David William Moeller (Birth: December 16, 1949 in Chicago, IL; Death: July 17, 2004 in California) and Elaine Moeller. Walter passed away on October 25, 1985.

Walter moved from Illinois to California where he worked in the motion picture industry as an artist. Margaret was very good at keeping in touch with the family. Margaret and my parents were in constant correspondence for as long as I can remember. Margaret lived a long and wonderful life and passed away at age 91.

Sisters Forever

Date: About 1950.
Occasion: Unknown.
Location: 2800 W. Grant Blvd., Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Photographer: Unknown.
Relationship to me: Maternal Grandmother and Grand Aunt.

I have very little information regarding this photograph. Once my mother retired, she went through boxes of photographs and created historical photo albums. She made one for myself and one for my brother. I am posting and commenting on the photographs from this album.

My Grand Uncle and Aunt lived on a corner lot with the front of the house facing Grant Blvd in a two story white frame home. They had a large screened in front porch. My dad in the summer would occasionally sleep on the porch when he did not want to venture home after a hot card game down at the club. As a very young child I remember spending a summer weekend with my Grand Aunt and sleeping on the front porch as well.

This is the only photograph that I have of the two sisters together.
